Flemish govt commits EUR 375 million to digital learning, all students to receive laptops

The Flanders region of Belgium has announced plans to invest EUR 375 million in digitisation efforts in the education sector. This will include giving every student from year five a laptop or similar device in order to do school work. All schools will receive funds to provide current students also with computers and to equip the schools with other ICT infrastructure and improved internet connectivity. Under the 'Digital leap forward', the government also plans additional training for teachers in digital learning methods and skills.
