Former KPN CEO says failed takeover a 'blessing'

Former KPN CEO Ad Scheepbouwer said it's a "blessing" that the Dutch operator was not acquired by America Movil. In Dutch paper Het Financieele Dagblad, Scheepbouwer said cultural differences were the main obstacle to the deal. He said these were too great, and the Mexican company would not have been sufficiently committed to the Dutch operator from its base in Latin America. He said KPN would be better off continuing alone, supported by the proceeds from selling its German operator E-Plus.
