FPT, ASN to roll out USD 310 mln Aurora undersea cable system throughout Americas

FP Telecommunications (FPT) and Alcatel Submarine Networks (ASN) have announced a deal to work together on the deployment of the Aurora submarine cable system to meet increasing bandwidth demands for broadband applications in North, Central and South America countries. The USD 310 million system will deliver up to 15 Tbps of capacity and strengthen the existing network infrastructure in a region that has a limited ability to manage growing demands associated with a larger user base, bandwidth growth, 4G/5G networks, low latency applications, Video on Demand, Internet of Things and Big Data,
