France announces measures to fight online piracy

The French government has announced a series of measures to fight illegal downloading, Clubic reports. Culture minister Fleur Pellerin said that in addition to the role of anti-piracy authority Hadopi, an action plan was being drafted to fight illicit streaming, downloading and search websites. A number of actions has been decided, including drying up the financing methods of copyright infringement specialist sites, drafting a charter with the advertising sector and rights holders. and the acelerated access to court-approved website blocking procedures.
