France-IX replaces backbone to offer 100 Gbps ports

Internet exchange France-IX announced that it was replacing its backbone equipment to be able to offer a full MPLS/VPLS network with homogeneous filtering rules, to offer 100 Gbps ports and to have a much higher density of 10 Gbps ports. On 18 July, new Juniper EX9214 equipment will be installed at POPs at Telehouse 2, Interxion 2 and Interxion 5. On 23 and 24 July, Force10 equipment, which offered no MPLS/VPLS and L2 filtering, will be replaced by the Brocade MLX at Telecity Courbevoie, Telecity Condorcet, Interxion 1 and Iliad DC3.
