Fraunhofer designs AR component for Hamburg city app

German research institute Fraunhofer Fokus has developed the augmented reality (AR) component for a new app that lets users digitally discover Hamburg's Speicherstadt, its historic warehouse district. The 'Speicherstadt digital' app helps users explore the history of this Unesco world heritage site by providing historic photos, background information on the district, audio segments and AR functions.
