Free accelerates unbundling programme

French ISP Free has accelerated its exchange unbundling programme as part of its three-pronged approach to helping reduce the digital divide between cities and rural areas. The operator has exchange unbundling orders serving over 1.5 million lines in 2,660 rural communities. Free has unbundled 4,500 xDSL exchanges to date. Furthermore, Through its co-development with France Telecom, Free is rolling out FttH in Brest, Reims, Le Havre and Dijon initially, to be followed by more cities and towns.
