Free starts bringing fibre offers to public initiative networks run by Altitude

Friday 15 March 2019 | 13:25 CET | News

French operator Free announced that its fibre broadband packages are now available on the public initiative network of Rev@, which is currently being deployed by Altitude Infrastructure in the Breton territorial community of Golfe du Morbihan and Vannes. Rev@ is the first rural network run by Altitude to see the arrival of Free's FTTH offers.

The start of commercialisation comes later than originally indicated by Free when the two operators agreed the terms of their partnership in mid-2018. Over the coming years, Altitude has committed to bring FTTH services to nearly 3 million rural premises across France.

In related news, Free has also reportedly opened the commercialisation phase for its FTTH offers in areas where SFR is in charge of the fibre roll-out under the so-called AMII agreement, mainly covering mid-size towns.
