Freenet launches free HD channels over DVB-T2

German operator Freenet is expanding its TV offer with more HD channels over DVB-T2, following its takeover of Media Broadcast, the DTT provider in Germany. From 31 May, Freenet customers will receive a free package of channels, including ZDF, Das Erste, RTL, ProSieben, SAT.1 and VOX, in full HD quality in numerous metropolitan areas. This is in addition to the existing DVB-T program offer. Compatible devices for DVB-T2 will be available from mid-May, carrying the Freenet TV logo. This includes digital TVs and receivers, and a CI+ module will launch at the end of May. The free channels are
