Freescale Semiconductor launched a 10 Gbps internet plus 10 Gbps Wi-Fi enabled home gateway platform. Coupled with open, Linux-based security, video streaming and networking applications, the platform enables boosts in bandwidth, throughput and quality of service.

The new Freescale platform leverages its quad-core QorIQ LS1043A processor based on 64-bit ARMv8 technology, together with Quantenna’s QSR10G 10G Wave 3 802.11ac Wi-Fi product family. This latest Quantenna product family can support up to 12 streams, and is based on its True 8x8 adaptive, multi-user Mimo (Mu-Mimo) technology, which provides the flexibility and scalability to meet rising demand for home access points that can manage and support increasing numbers of Wi-Fi devices. The reference platform also features a 10 Gbps copper or fibre WAN connection enabled by the QorIQ LS1043A processor’s 10G Ethernet port.
