French bill sets 20% tax on resale of TV spectrum

The Macron economic reform bill has been amended to effectively quadruple the tax on electromagnetic spectrum, at 20 percent if a TV channel is resold less than 5 years after licensing, 10 percent between 5 and 10 years, and 5 percent after 10 years, reports Les Echos. The amendment is supported by the minister of culture and the prime minister's office. In early April, DTT channel N23 was sold for about EUR 90 million.
