French data watchdog serves notice to dating sites

French data protection agency CNIL has served notice to eight companies after an investigation revealed a number of breaches of privacy. The agency looked into 13 data sites, namely Meetic, Attractive World, Adopte un mec, Easyflirt, Rencontre obèse, Destidyll, Forcegay, Mektoube, Jdream, Feujworld, Marmite love, Gauche rencontre, Celibest. The sites are managed by eight companies, which have been warned. If the companies take appropriate action within three months, there will be no further consequences.
