French digital bill to reach parliament by January 2016

France's planned Digital Law will be discussed at a interministerial level during the week of 7 September before the bill is put online for public consultation before the end of the month, French digital secretary Axelle Lemaire told Les Echos. The bill will then be assessed by independent agencies such as telecom regulator Arcep and data protection agency CNIL before its notification to the European Commission. The draft law is expected to reach cabinet in November and the National Assembly in December or January 2016. The new law will affect statutes in up to 14 areas, including commerce
