French 'digital cohesion' scheme approves LTE-based offers from Orange and SFR

Tuesday 16 July 2019 | 12:43 CET | News
Orange and SFR announced that their LTE-based plans targeting households with poor fixed broadband speeds can now benefit from financial support as part of the government's 'digital cohesion' scheme. This initiative was launched to help approximately 1.5-2 million rural households and businesses, enabling them to benefit from up to EUR 150 towards the installation of equipment for fixed wireless or satellite services. It was unveiled at the end of 2017 to back the government's commitment to improve the availability of 'good' internet access (at least 8 Mbps) in all under-served areas by 2020.
