French e-commerce sales suffer 10% fall in March, recover in April

Friday 29 May 2020 | 16:55 CET | News
French e-commerce sales have been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 crisis during the first-quarter, with revenues falling by 10.1 percent year-on-year in March, according to a study by e-commerce federation Fevad. After a positive start for the first two months of the year (+8.0%), the contraction during March meant that e-commerce revenues experienced their weakest quarterly growth ever recorded in France (+1.8%), based on EUR 25.3 billion worth of sales. However, for the leading e-commerce sites, performance remained resilient (+7.7%), driven by product categories such as food and games.
