French e-wallet apps Fivory and Wa! to merge in 2017

The banks and retailers behind the French e-wallet apps 'Fivory' and 'Wa!' announced that they are joining forces to replace the two mobile payment services with a unified app, which is set to launch under a new brand in early 2017. The agreement will see the two companies which developed 'Wa!' – BNP Paribas and Carrefour – team up with the five main partners behind 'Fivory' – Credit Mutuel, Auchan, Oney, Total and Mastercard. The new mobile payment app will aim to offer customers a range of additional benefits. Retailer Auchan will integrate it into its own myAuchan app to provide paperless
