French govt sees no demand for 5G spectrum from non-telecom players

The French secretary of state responsible for the telecom sector, Agnes Pannier-Runacher, told Le Monde that the government had no plans to set aside 5G spectrum for non-telecom players in the forthcoming auction, expected to start in the autumn. She stated that France was not going follow the model set by Germany, where a portion of reserved spectrum in the 3.7-3.8 GHz band will be awarded without auction to applicants from sectors such as industrial automation and agriculture.
