French govt to give 5G licence holders 15 years to pay for 50 MHz spectrum blocks

French telecom authority Arcep said that the formal start of the forthcoming 3.5 GHz spectrum auction is imminent, as in the coming days the government is set to publish the final documents on the tender in the Official Journal. As part of this latest announcement, the regulator said that 5G licence holders will be given fifteen years (the duration of the licence) to spread the cost of the spectrum blocks of 50 MHz that will be awarded at a fixed price of EUR 350 million each in the first stage of the award procedure.
