French govt to provide ministers with encrypted messenger service

The French secretary of state for digital affairs, Mounir Mahjoubi, said in a radio interview that the French government would soon adopt an encrypted messenger service similar to Telegram, reports Le Figaro. The project for this new service, managed by the administration with the help of a private partner, aims to create a secure mobile application for ministers and government officials, under the supervision of national cybersecuirty agency Anssi.
