French industry minister Montebourg gains digital portfolio

French president Francois Hollande's new prime minister, Manuel Vals, has chosen a cabinet of sixteen ministers, four fewer than Jean-Marc Ayrault, who tendered his resignation after the Socialist party was widely defeated in the country's municipal elections in the last week of April. As part of the reshuffle Montebourg keeps his post as economics and industry minister, but has been given direct responsibility for Digital. The finance ministry has gone to Michel Sapin.
