France had 75.5 million Sim cards in service as at 30 September, driven by an increase in conventional and M2M lines. There were 727,000 more Sim cards in use than three months earlier and 3.6 percent more than a year earlier, according to telecom regulator Arcep. The total figure included 53.1 million postpaid customers (+1.1 million in a year) and 6.5 million M2M accounts (+400,000). MVNOs had 7.9 million customers at the end of the third quarter, representing a 10.8 percent market share. The regulator also noted that 41 percent of all subscriptions came with no contract tie-in period.
