French MVNOs turn to Competition Authority

French MVNO association Alternative Mobile has asked France's Competition Authority to rule on the implications of all of the constraints (pricing, legal, technical) that are susceptible of hindering their capacity to play their role fully in the market. The sector was hit by the arrival of Free Mobile, with MNOs now offering prices that they claim they are unable to replicate profitably. Alternative Mobile also called on the government to ensure that future measures currently being drawn up allow MVNOs to survive in the fiercely competitive mobile market. MVNOs have created nearly 3,000 jobs in the last 5 years and have around 7.5 million customers for an 11 percent market share .
