French operators announce full LTE coverage across Paris metro

Tuesday 30 June 2020 | 10:10 CET | News
LTE connectivity is now available on the entire metro system of the French capital, providing coverage on board trains across all underground tunnels linking 304 metro stations. The country's four network operators have installed 321 cell sites to complete the roll-out, which was delayed by several years due to the technical complexity of the project. Paris transport authority RATP said that Bouygues Telecom, Free Mobile, SFR and Orange have agreed partnerships to coordinate the deployment, in particular deciding to share infrastructure equipment.
