French regulator demands transparency from operators on 5G coverage maps

Friday 23 October 2020 | 09:55 CET | News
France's telecom authority Arcep has published guidelines recommending that network operators introduce detailed indicators in their 5G coverage maps. The commercial launch of the first 5G services is expected before the end of the year, after the country's 3.5 GHz spectrum sale raised EUR 2.79 billion. In order to help customers make informed choices, the regulator is moving to provide a code of conduct both for operators and speed testing tools on service availability and performance information.
