French supreme court denies Bouygues Telecom's bid to delay 5G auction

Monday 3 August 2020 | 16:53 CET | News
France's supreme court (Conseil d'Etat) has published a first ruling on the request by Bouygues Telecom to postpone the forthcoming 5G spectrum auction, reports Les Echos. The operator hoped that the legal action could cancel the government decree published at the end of 2019, setting out the rules of the tender process. In practice, this first decision shelves the case temporarily and the company will have to wait until autumn for the court to consider the merits of its arguments. A Bouygues Telecom executive told Les Echos that the ruling didn't come as a surprise.
