Salto, the joint venture of France Televisions, M6 and TF1, has started testing its SVoD platform in a small-scale trial with 300 participants, reports Les Echos. This is in view of a full launch sometime in the autumn, after new delays caused by the Covid-19 crisis. The company has also confirmed that it is holding talks on a possible distribution agreement with at least two telecom operators, Orange and Bouygues Telecom.
Salto has yet to launch itself in content production, while it remains committed to investing in new programmes as it develops. Its SVoD library should reach around 15,000 hours of programmes in time for its commercial debut. Pricing of the service is still being reviewed, with monthly subscriptions between EUR 5 and EUR 10 currently under consideration.
