French tax office raids eBay, PayPal offices - report

French tax office officials raided the Paris offices of eBay and its subsidiary PayPal in early December, Expansion reports. There are concerns over Ebay redirecting a large part of its revenues to Switzerland and pays VAT in Luxembourg. According to public filings, Ebay only declared EUR 10.2 million of revenue in France in 2011, and PayPal EUR 11.08 million, or 50 times less than in Germany and the UK. They paid EUR 1.35 million in French corporate tax in 2011. According to France's national digital council, the companies generate between EUR 200 million and EUR 500 million of revenues in
