French virtual network operators seek full MVNO status

French MVNO association Alternative Mobile held a press conference to call on mobile network operators Orange, SFR and Bouygues Telecom to allow its members to become "full MVNOs" by installing their own network equipment, AFP reports. This model already exists in Spain, the Netherlands and Scandinavian countries, explained Jacques Bonifay, Transatel CEO and Alternative Mobile president, arguing that full MVNOs would be able to issue their own SIM cards and manage their prices more freely. Bonifay stated that by managing part of the network, MVNOs could technically change their hosting
