FT CEO reiterates aim to share network costs with web giants

France Telecom-Orange CEO Stephane Richard reiterated in a Wall Street Journal interview the company's position that giant internet companies like Google and Facebook should contribute to the cost of rolling out pipes across the territory and of ensuring their smooth operation as they carry an ever-increasing volume of data and multimedia traffic. The French incumbent is one of a number of European operators that argue that internet companies are benefiting the most from the situation, notably by reaping the rewards of online advertising. Richard called for a fair revenue-sharing model

Does this gentleman not understand that without Google, et al, nobody would want his network? If he's not making money it's not Google's fault.
