FTC extends Google investigation over Android - report

Staff of the US Federal Trade Commission have met with companies in recent months to examine industry concerns that Google abuses the dominance of its Android smartphone software, extending a probe that began last year, people familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal. The FTC is examining issues similar to the EU, which last week charged Google with improperly using Android's dominance to force device makers and operators to favor Google's search engine and other services.
