FTTH NL: telecoms secretary backs infrastructure competition

Monday 15 July 2019 | 14:34 CET | News
Any market party is free to roll out fibre where they want, according to the telecoms secretary. She was responding to questions from parliament about KPN's announced roll-out FTTH in Beemster, despite a local residents initiative already underway there. The secretary said she welcomes competition and regrets any uncertainty on the market, but it is not her role to intervene. The regulator ACM is already looking at the competition aspects, and the players can also consider cooperation agreements, she added.
