Fujitsu to split PC, smartphone business, create IoT unit

Fujitsu announced plans to restructure its Ubiquitous Solutions division, creating separate units for PCs, smartphones and the Internet of Things. The company said the decision is driven by the increasing commoditisation of the PC and phone markets and the need to focus on developing more competitive and superior products. In addition, Fujitsu will also accelerate support for its IoT business, an area of future growth where it is enhancing its initiatives across the company. Under the new business structure, Fujitsu is planning to split the PC and smartphone businesses off as wholly owned
