Gabon picks South Korean operator KT to extend Central African Backbone project

Gabon's ministry for the digital economy has selected South Korean operator KT as the winner of an international tender for a 520-km fibre-optic backbone project linking Booue, situated in the Ogooue-Ivindo province, to the borders with Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, reports TIC Mag. The contract forms part of the wider Central African Backbone (CAB) project, which has recently seen the completion of a section linking Gabon to Congo.
