Gameloft closes New York City studio

French video game company Gameloft has closed its studio in New York City, the studio's lead programmer, Kevin Chen, confirmed in a public Facebook post. "As of this morning, after 15 years and many dozens of bestselling games, all production at Gameloft NYC is ceased. All development personnel, including myself, have been terminated." This announcement followed a report by Gamasutra that stated that up to 100 employees were laid off, although the company would not confirm the figure.
