GateHouse signs European Space Agency contract to extend NB-IoT protocols to satellites

Danish satellite communications waveform and test equipment specialist GateHouse Telecom said that with support from the Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education, it has signed a contract with the European Space Agency. The project aims to extend existing NB-IoT protocols to enable a space-based Narrowband-IoT network. When tailored to GEO, LEO and MEO satellites, this could extend current terrestrial networks to remote areas with no or limited coverage.
