Gates Foundation releases open source m-payment software 'Mojaloop'

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has released an open source software designed to provide a reference model for payment interoperability between banks and other providers across developing countries. The free code, dubbed Mojaloop (from the Swahili word 'moja', meaning "one"), aims to address the lack of interoperability across platforms while helping to bring basic financial services to the nearly two billion people in developing economies that lack bank accounts.
