GCC mobile market shows signs of recovery in Q1

The Gulf mobile phone market started 2017 off on a positive note, according to the latest figures from the International Data Corporation (IDC). Its quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker shows that overall shipments for the first quarter of the year were 6.1 million units, up 2.4 percent on Q4 2016. This represents a second consecutive period of quarter-on-quarter growth but shipments for Q1 are still down 20.2 percent year on year.
