GDPR fines top EUR 60 mln in 2020, including EUR 45 mln in Italy alone

Total fines imposed in EU countries this year due to breaches of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) have already exceeded EUR 60 million, according to a report from Finbold. Data protection authorities have fined companies for numerous infringements of the GDPR, the most common of which has been insufficient legal basis for data processing, said the report.
