European research and education organisation GEANT, which operates a 500 Gbps pan-European network, announced that it signed a landmark cloud computing agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS benefits from a waiver of 'data egress' charges for education and research institutions across Europe, up to 15 percent of total monthly spend on AWS services.
