Gelderland households face potential fines after duplicate fibre projects

Wednesday 11 September 2019 | 16:31 CET | News
Hundreds of households in the West Maas and Waal region of the Netherlands may get hit by cancellation fines of up to EUR 1,000 per fibre connection. In the region, both Glasvezel Buitenaf and Digitale Stad started sign-up procedures. They both then decided, based on the number of registrations, to deploy fibre networks. This means duplicate fibre networks will be rolled out in the West Maas and Waal regions. It was already known in June that the two parties would duplicate each other.
