Gemalto board to propose promotion of Vallee to CEO

Gemalto announced that CEO Olivier Piou decided to retire from the company at the end of August. Philippe Vallee, currently COO of Gemalto, will be proposed by the board of directors at the annual general meeting of shareholders to become an executive director of the board and the company's new CEO, effective 1 September. Piou will be proposed by the board to continue to serve as a non-executive director of the company as of the same date.

Piou, who joined in 1981, has led the company 18 years, first known as the Smart Cards division of Schlumberger. Vallee joined the company in 1992. He is Gemalto's chief operating officer, with operational responsibility for all the company's businesses. Vallee has 27 years of experience in the digital security space, both on the embedded software and product side and on the back-end data centre and cloud technology side.

Gemalto lowers 2017 profit target, posts 1% Q3 revenue drop

Gemalto lowered its target for 2017 operating profit, with a revised guidance in the range of EUR 500-520 million. Saudi National Commercial Bank picks Gemalto for EMV cards

Gemalto has been chosen by National Commercial Bank (NCB) of Saudi Arabia to migrate its entire portfolio of credit cards to contactless EMV cards. NCB has more than 4 million customers and will offer them Gemalto's Clarista contactless EMV cards. The card was customised to meet Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) specifications and Gemalto was first to achieve that certification for a dual interface card in the kingdom.

Gemalto kiest opvolger CEO

Gemalto aims for EUR 1 bln of platform, service revenue

Gemalto CEO Olivier Piou announced the company targets for 2016 on Les Echos newspaper's morning video show during which he discussed contactless payment, Sim cards, IoT, corporate security, e-government and more.
