Gemalto claims first with LTE Cat-1 module for M2M

Gemalto is launching what it claims to be the industry's first LTE Cat-1 wireless module  for M2M and industrial IoT applications. The new Cinterion M2M module meets the market need of power-optimised performance and single-mode LTE at speeds of up to 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps uplink. Target markets include metering, tracking and tracing, fleet management and m-health that require the longevity and reliability of LTE in the decades ahead as 2G and 3G networks phase out.
