German ARD director calls for European digital platform as alternative to Google, Facebook, Youtube

The director of German public broadcaster ARD Ulrich Wilhelm has called for a European digital platform alternative to the "monopoly" of Google, Facebook and YouTube, Heise Online reports. Germany and France should lead the project, while other states such as Spain and the UK, regardless of Brexit, would surely join, he said, according to the report.
