German court dismisses Google complaint against data protection ordinance

The Administrative Court of Hamburg has dismissed an appeal from Google in which the search engine giant sought to overturn an administrative order issued by the Hamburg data protection commissioner Johannes Caspar calling for Google to abide by German data protection laws while processing user data. Google must now comply with the privacy watchdog's ordinance, which has now become law, said the office of the Hamburg data protection authority.
