German court dismisses ICANN injunction on WHOIS data

The Regional Court of Bonn has decided not to issue an injunction in proceedings initiated by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) against EPAG, a Germany-based, ICANN-accredited domain registrar. ICANN filed for an injunction at the court to seek assistance in interpreting the EU's new data privacy laws (GDPR) in order to protect data collected in WHOIS, said ICANN.
