German court rules against Telefonica on 5G frequencies allocation

The Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig ruled that the decisions of the Federal Network Agency relating to the allocation of frequencies in the 2 GHz and 3.6 GHz bands to expand 5G  infrastructure via auction is legal. The court dismissed a lawsuit brought by Telefonica Germany challenging the decision of the Chamber of the Federal Network Agency on 14 May 2018. Telefonica regrets the decision of the court and will analyse it in detail, a spokesperson for the company said, adding that it is now focusing on expanding its 5G network, which is due to start in 2020 in five major German
