German court rules in favour of Unitymedia over default router homespot

The German Federal Court of Justice ruled that Unitymedia can offer to its broadband customers a second hotspot on the home router, so that third parties can use it for Wi-Fi accesss. The consumers association in North Rhine-Westphalia had complained over the shared hotspot, calling it an aggressive business practice, and said the operator should obtain prior consent from customers before activating the service.
