German e-commerce grows 15% to over EUR 83 billion in 2020

The gross sales of goods over e-commerce platforms in Germany rose by 14.6 percent in 2020 to EUR 83.3 billion, despite a stagnation in the first quarter, according to e-commerce association BEVH. The growth rate was 3.3 percent points higher than the average 11.3 percent increase over the previous three years, driven by more people shopping online during the coronavirus pandemic.
