German Federal Cabinet adopts self-driving draft law

The German Federal Cabinet has approved a draft law that would allow full use of automated driving systems on German roads. The draft law, submitted by infrastructure minister Alexander Dobrindt, would allow drivers of automated vehicles to surrender control to the automated system. Dobrindt described the law as putting human drivers and self-drive computers on equal footing legally.
