German govt approves draft competition law to tighten control of dominant digital platforms

The German government has approved the draft for the reform of the Competition (GWB) Digitization Act submitted by the Economic Minister Peter Altmaier. The government wants to tighten control over digital platforms with the legislation, particularly dominant platforms, while also increasing opportunities for innovation and ensuring market and data access for competitors.
